- Description
- Ingredients: Black tea Assam*
- Flavour: malty, strong
Assam is a province in the northeast of India with a tropical climate. Geographically surrounded by Bangladesh, Burma, Bhutan, Tibet and China, only in the northwest, through a narrow strip of territory, there is a connection with the motherland India. This largest contiguous tea-growing area in the world produces about half of India's tea output.
The main harvesting season is from mid-April to the end of August. Assam teas from the second plucking period are of greatest relevance in terms of quality and export business. These qualities are often very colorful, usually pour very dark and are typically strong, full-spicy, not infrequently of malty character.
